[Maximum Ninja - 2]

Not bad...

...but it moves at a slower pace than madness. The animation is above average, alot of Ninja dodging and shooting things.

Madness was cool because you can almost feel the anger/rage in his actions (impaling someone on a sword and then shooting him pointblank adds character.

In all honesty, I just wanted Ninja to be, well, more like a ninja (stealthy, quick). He's just sort of doing the same thing as Madness. If you go and and some more nuances (ninja moves all stealthy and the other guy is kind of cautious) maybe I would like it more.

Overall 7.5 is my score.

[jesus and me - the movie]

I liked the music...

but I was hoping for something that would really kick ass (Hey, I like Jesus. He's my man). The concept was cool, but the execution wasn't as polished.

I say, write up a script, try to hook up with someone on the BBS to animate it, and give it another go.

For any body watching, this basically tries to make Jesus into a badass (well, he's going to be if you go by the Book of Revelations), so take it as you will. Rock on.

Just Barely an 8...

I don't get why you went out at 50 fps, but that flash was well done.

Next time, go out at a reasonable 30 or 24 (going out at 50-60 fps doesn't really make it look any better, and the file size can get ridiculous at that fps). Then you can finish the entire song (your doing 2 times the drawing with less actual pay off at 50 fps).

I say barely a 8 because I think the editing was well done, but the graphics were above average (meaning it had stick people that didn't look like crap).

Well, whatever. I voted a 4, so don't worry. :)

I liked it....

I just wish the overall movement of the characters were more refined (the Crime Unit running wasn't all that great).

The model for Robo is good, just need to add the hydraulic bits that connect the arms and legs to the torso (you can see them not connected when he's shooting everything up).

Overall, I liked it. Don't expect a story, just some pretty good visuals with not quite perfect movement. Thumbs up.

That didn't make any sense...

I know its Batman, but what's up with the gargoyle?

Almost fooled me with the preloader (I think you spent more time on that than the entire flash).

Why something like this is averaging at 3.72 defies reasonable logic.

I gave it a 1. Sorry.

As for the preloader, you thought wrong. I don't see how you could have any idea what anyone does with flash.

Love everything except the ending...

I think I would have been happy if it was all just a dream. I personally don't know what you're getting at with the suicide bit, but I do have doubts that dying is anywhere near as surreal as some people want to think it is.

To bad too. I loved the imagery all around, but the whole piece was ruined for me when he dies.

It basically becomes REALLY depressing, in a artificial way (he's not living in the barrios of Brazil where they literally treat you like scum or anything remotely NEAR that kind of life experience)

Oh well, its your piece, just remember that presenting art isn't just about expressing yourself. Sometimes, you have to remember that art can affect life, and being given a talent comes with SOME resposibilities (unless your just out to make entertainment, but even then... )

Something actually original...

Don't listen to most of the folks who hate this flash. They were expecting some sort of 'Xiao Xiao' 'Madness' sort of thing, and they didn't get what they want.

BIG DEAL.

You don't like this flash, tough bones. Try making something as off the wall and original, instead of copying some anime or ripping someone elses stuff.

j q, keep making these toons. With more polish, and experience, you'll make it to the top.

Not terrible...

But I think you should be putting this on IFILM or Atomfilms, so you don't have to enter it as a Flash file.

Flash files aren't great for presenting AVIs in clear format, and this piece shouldn't have to suffer visually because of the limitations of Flash.

All the other criticisms (rough/jerky animation, soso coreography, too many matrix effects) are valid.

So I think you should go back to the drawing board, flesh out what kind of scenario you want (its just 2 random guys fighting for no reason at the moment), and once you have a rough cut (good editing and pacing for the story) THEN go for a Longer version.

Just my 2 cents...

Yea.. but the intro already came out.. and we explained that this entry was just a SAMPLE :) Not supposed to have a plot or plan.. just 2 random guys fighting.. there real characters that will be in the real episodes. but right now we just wanted to show some of tha capabilities.. It will definaley be more fine tuned next time...

Technically good. But I'm not sure about...

how to rate this. Haven't seen any of the other Waterman toons, and I'm not a huge fan of Flash style animation (cut out parts, replacement mouths, that sort of thing).

I guess I'll just say, go watch the other Waterman episodes before you see this one.
